Yesterday I only gave scant information due to time. Today I’ll tell you more about my book, a semi-autobiography. “Journey to Me” is about a subject that is making headlines today, mental illness.
Because I came from a dysfunctional family, I had a nervous breakdown at nineteen. I was hospitalized, attended group, and other, therapies; at the time I was in a lot of pain and greatly resented what I was going through.
Today I actually remember it with happiness, because I began to learn things about real life, that mental illness is a lot more common than we realized, that people can experience dark times in their lives. I can’t change what happened to me, but once I got a good perspective on it, understood the dynamics better, I became a better person for it.
